- Good geographical knowledge of the UK and West Yorkshire.
- Previous planning experience of circa 40 local vehicles throughout the West Yorkshire area.
- A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to work under pressure.

We currently have an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team for a founding member of Palletline, one of largest pallet networks in the UK. By utilising your effective customer service skills and past experience, you will be responsible for providing a fantastic service to all of our other Palletline member companies. You will get stuck in to the ever-changing transport environment by tracking deliveries, dealing with urgent queries and aiding to ensure free-flowing movement of thousands of palletised goods each week inline with our KPIs. Previous experience in transport is not required as we will train your knowledge areas from the vast amount of experience we have in the business, but customer service and communication skills are vital.

The role of Distance Planning Lead is to have full operational, budgetary and H&S responsibility for the General Distance operation whilst also having dotted line responsibility outside of the division. The individual will also be expected to operate at both a higher (strategic) level whilst also ensuring the day to day targets are achieved consistently.
The role forms part of the wider Expect management team and therefore the individual must ensure that they and all personnel reporting to them, are acting and performing in a manner that is aligned with both the company values and mission statement.
Results within the role will be assessed via the consistent and demonstrable maximising of the Distance Distribution divisions operations; including financial performance and service provision. Specifically, the key purpose of the role is to ensure that fleet, network, partner and subcontract operations are planned efficiently and effectively, and that we then realise those plans to deliver the necessary efficiency, service and financial targets consistently
KEY ACTIVITIES AND REPONSBILITIES
Play an active and engaged part in ensuring H&S standards are upheld throughout all areas of the business and operations.
- Provide dynamic and effective leadership and management of the division, aligned with both division specific and business wide strategy.
- Support HoGD in delivering specific projects aligned with strategic aims of the division and business.
- Take overall responsibility for delivery service regardless of delivery channels, including the reporting of all relevant KPI’s
- Active delivery and control of all budgetary targets on a daily, weekly and annual basis.
- Ensure necessary resource and controls for the daily operation, ensuring we align with customer demand to consistently successful resolution.
- Maintain clear and continual communication channels with all staff.
- Take a supporting role in ensuring all relevant fleet and operational compliance is upheld in line with Operators Licence Undertakings as nominated CPC holder.
- Ensure concise communication with all key stakeholders.

The Transport Customer Care Team Leader is responsible for owning the relationship and service provision with our Transport customers in our General Distribution division. The role leads the Customer Care team and delivers the customer-first agenda in the division.
Though the role does not have full direct operational responsibility, it is required that it is closely aligned to ensure that the needs of both our customers and the business are satisfied, even where there are conflicting priorities at times. It holds budgetary and H&S responsibility for the General Distribution division. The individual will also be expected to operate at both a higher (strategic) level whilst also ensuring the day to day targets are achieved consistently. The role is also required to effectively contribute to the wider team running the General Distribution division.
Leadership and continued development of people at all levels within the division is a key responsibility of the role, through consistently engaging and developing the people within whilst upholding standards of performance. Nurture and develop team to grow future leadership team for division and business
